Program Topics

Each session of the Healthy ‘n Fit Weight Management Program is devoted to a different nutrition topic that directly effects childhood obesity.

Initial Session
Prior to starting the 12 week program, the dietitian or health care provider administering the Healthy ‘n Fit Weight Management Program should meet with the child and his or her family for an initial consultation. The Healthy ‘n Fit Weight Management Program Curriculum includes a detailed, step-by-step layout of what information should be gathered during the initial assessment of the overweight child. During this session, the dietitian or health care provider administering the Healthy ‘n Fit Weight Management Program will determine, using the step-by-step instructions in the program curriculum, the child’s nutrition and calorie needs and provide the child and his or her family with a detailed, customized meal plan. Weight management goals will also be established at this session.
